AN INVESTIGATIVE journalist who has braved many a sticky situation was in far more friendly surroundings when he presented a school with a new bus.

Donal MacIntyre was chosen to present Hillingdon Manor School, in Harlington Road, Hillingdon, with its new Sunshine Bus, courtesy of DeVere Hotels.

As well as rooting out rogues, MacIntyre has appeared on BBC TV's Dancing On Ice, and has fronted a series of documentaries about people with learning disabilities.

Hillingdon Manor School is well known for having been set up for children with autism and Asperger's syndrome.

Anna Kennedy, director of the school, said: "The children were thrilled with the new bus.

"We had lots of people here at the presentation, and the children sang Away in a Manger and All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth, which is a song they came up with themselves."

The new 17-seat coach will be used to take children to and from all sorts of events, ranging from Duke of Edinburgh trips and visits to the gym for training sessions.
