I AM one of the members of Asian Women's Group (Group's cash cuts crisis, Gazette, December 8).

I joined this organisation five years ago and started to build my confidence with computer courses.

Later I gained an NVQ1 and 2 teaching assistant qualification from this centre. First aid, Triple P and employment and CV writing courses helped me to start my first job as a teaching assistant in a primary school.

Now it has been three years and I am still in employment, all because of this organisation. This centre is only for Asian women; that is very helpful because we can communicate in our own language and understand our culture, which has helped all the women to achieve their goals.

Closing these charity organisations makes it harder for women like me to progress and be independent.

My husband has been jobless for more than three months. If I had not had this job, life would have very hard. Please consider this issue. We all support this organisation.
