A prolific burglar who plagued Harrow and Wembley's streets for more than six years has been jailed for three years and given a 10-year Anti Social Behaviour Order.

As part of the ASBO, Richard Duff, 28, of no fixed address, is banned from visiting any public place in Brent or Harrow between 9pm and 6am.

He was caught by specialist crime unit the Brent Marshals after his fingerprints were found at the scene of a residential burglary he committed in September 2008.

After his arrest, Duff admitted a further eight unsolved burglaries and was sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on December 4.

PC Grahame Sheer, from the Brent Marshals Unit, said: "This highlights the continued efforts of Brent priority crime wing to not only identify, arrest and charge offenders, but to also secure the future safety of the area by reducing the opportunity for such prolific offenders to perpetrate crimes."

Duff has also been restricted from all but a small part of Brent Borough and some areas of Harrow.
