THE WINNERS of the Chelsea Art Society awards have been announced.

Following an inspiring exhibition at Chelsea Old Town Hall, in King's Road, talented artists have triumphed in the 62nd annual competition.

Among the winning pictures was a watercolour of Lots Road, painted by G. West.

Chair artist Julian Barrow said: "What is wonderful and encouraging is that in Chelsea,

which traditionally has always been home to very many distinguished artists, the Chelsea Art Society annual exhibition goes from strength to strength."

The list of winners is: Award for a Painting: Roy Connelly (St Michael's Mount)

Award for a Sculpture by a non-member: Julian Murray (Female Form II)

Agnes Reeve Memorial Award for a Painting of London: Olga Brown (Piccadilly)

Gwen Mandley Memorial Award for a Watercolour: G. West (Lots Rd Interior)

Mary Grob Award for a Print:

Karen Keogh (Tea Plantation)

Sculptors' Own Prize: Teresa Chlapowski (Cracked Earth)

Green & Stone Prize for an Oil Painting: Johnny Morant (Studio Interior)

Ridgeway Sculpture Prize: Ben Hughes (The Cellist)
