HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised for charity by a Marylebone photographer's exhibition.

Daniel Brookman, of Balcombe Street, who suffered from a kidney condition as a child, raised £900 for the Willow Foundation charity, which provides special days for seriously ill 16 to 40-year-olds.

His People and Places exhibition was on show at the Broad Gallery, in Islington, until the end of June.

The collection of 27 photographs was a mixture of portraits and landscapes, black and white and bright colours, still and moving targets.

The money was raised by auctioning his Texas landscape photo, alongside the raffle of a signed Arsenal football club print.

Mr Brookman chose to support the Willow Foundation after experiencing first-hand the great benefits of taking time out from living with an illness.

"I've suffered for most of my adult life with ventricular tachycardia and as a teenager suffered with a kidney condition which required surgery and a long stint in hospital," he said.

"This has certainly changed my perspective on life and the importance of health, friendships and family support.

Bob Wilson, co-founder of the Willow Foundation, said: "Daniel's talent and creativity is clear and he has generously shared his success to benefit the Willow. It's thanks to the generosity of people like Daniel that the charity is able to make a difference to the lives of people living with serious illness."
