A ROW of garages were damaged in a blazing fire which is thought to have been deliberate.
On Saturday, August 10, at 8.15pm fire crews from Harrow, Stanmore and Wembley were called to Augustine Road in Harrow, a row of garages which back onto the main train line to Euston were on fire.
Fire fighters feared the fire would spread onto the train line but luckily they had the inferno under control in ten minutes after arriving at the scene.
Watch Manager at Harrow fire station, Dave Donaghey said: "Luckily there was no one in the garages, we did think that there were homeless people sleeping in there, we were also worried about the fire spreading onto the train line, we would have had to shut the whole train line if that happened.
"The cause of the fire is under investigation but we do believe it was deliberate. Three of the garages were affected by the fire, but there were no cars in any of them, just some furniture."
The cause of the fire is under investigation and no one was hurt.
