AN 11-MONTH baby escaped virtually unscathed after falling from a moving car onto a busy road in Hounslow.

The child fell from the window of a car in Staines Road, near Hounslow Heath, on Friday (May 25) at about 3.40pm.

The boy was still secured to his baby seat when he fell from the car, a green Vauxhall Corsa.

He was taken to West Middlesex Hospital and later transferred to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, from where he was discharged  just after midnight, following treatment.

A police spokesman said there were two adults in the vehicle, a man and a woman. It is not known whether they are the parents.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified. He was bailed to return for police questioning in July.

The incident caused huge tailbacks on surrounding roads.
