Police are still hunting armed robber Ashley Waterman more than a week after he escaped from a secure unit in Ealing.

Ashley Waterman has been on the run from cops since he went missing from St Bernard's Hospital in the early hours last Saturday.

The 20-year-old, who was serving five years for his crime, had been imprisoned at Feltham Young Offenders Institution but was transferred due to mental health problems.

Waterman, described by police as dangerous, is white, 5ft 8in and slim, with short, light-brown hair.

The Uxbridge Road unit from which he escaped is run by West London Mental Health Trust, which also manages the Lakeside facility at West Middlesex Hospital.

The trust has already increased security measures following the breach and has promised to carry out a full investigation into how Waterman was able to escape.

Anyone who may know of Waterman's whereabouts, or thinks they have seen him, is asked to call Ealing Police on 020 8246 2058. Do not approach him.

If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
