Armed robbers tried to hold up a convenience store in Harlesden on Wednesday.
Two suspects who had covered their faces entered Alric food and Wine in Alric Avenue at 2.25pm - one armed with a gun.
They demanded money but a member of staff intervened. A scuffle ensued and the duo ran off empty handed towards Brentfield Road.
Detectives from the Flying Squad are investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses.
The shop and freehold were incidentally recently sold for £150,000 by estate agents Clarke Hillyer.
