Armed police swooped on a house in West Drayton in the early hours and arrested four people, after an eagle-eyed member of the public had seen two of them exchanging a gun .

The incident happened in Wordsworth Way at about 1am today (Thursday, October 9), and the four then made their way to a house in Milton Way nearby.

Officers from the Specialist Firearms Command entered the house and four males – whose ages have not been given – were arrested.

A sniffer dog found the weapon . It turned out to be a ball-bearing gun, and it has been sent for forensic tests.
