Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after two schoolboys were assaulted by a group of young cyclists in Portobello Road.
The two boys, aged 11 and 13, were punched and kicked by a group of youngsters aged between 12 and 14 while shopping with a friend in the Portobello Road Market area on Sunday (May 4) between 2:30pm and 3pm.
As the victims got to the junction of Pembridge Road and Chepstow Villas, the group of boys riding bicycles attacked them but no bystanders stepped in to help.
DC John Cahill, from Kensington and Chelsea’s Criminal Investigation Department, said: “The victims stated that whilst being assaulted there were a number of persons that witnessed the incident and did not intervene to assist them.
“We would encourage anyone that that witnessed the assault to come forward. We would also encourage anyone that may potentially know or have knowledge of the suspect’s identities to come forward or provide information via Crimestoppers where the information will be treated in the strictest confidence.”
