POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was stabbed for refusing to hand over his mobile phone to a group of thieves. 

The Gazette reported how an 18-year-old man was found suffering injuries to his upper left arm in The Mall on Thursday, January 19, just before 6pm.

He has since been discharged from hospital.

It is believed the unnamed victim was approached by four unknown males. One of the males spoke to him and tried to steal his mobile phone. When he refused, one of the suspects threatened him with a knife. 

The victim tried but was stabbed in his arm before seeking refuge in Mr Ben's barber's shop. The suspect then made off and is believed to have got on the 207 bus towards Ealing Broadway. 

The suspect is described as black, aged between 18 and 25, and is about 5ft 8in tall. He was wearing a baseball cap, dark puffer jacket and dark blue baggy jeans.

DC Reuben Pearson, of Ealing Robbery Squad, said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a young man at a busy time of day in Ealing Broadway.

No arrests have been made.
