A GREENFORD man is putting his best foot forward as he prepares to run the length of London Underground's Central line for charity.

Anthony Vander, 25, will run a epic 29.1 miles - three miles longer than the London marathon - from Epping to West Ruislip next Friday, April 30.

Donations will go towards the Haiti Earthquake Children's Appeal and Anthony said he is hoping to raise a minimum of £500.

Anthony said: "I decided to run the Central line as it's the route I take every day to work, as I work as an usher at the South Bank. The line is also the one I grew up with. I've been training for the last two months and I'm currently averaging five miles a day, plus I've been trying to go for some night runs.

"It's obviously a big challenge but I'm feeling good about it.

"I don't think I'll start feeling nervous about it until the night before."

Anthony will set out with his friend Luke Spencer from Epping Tube station at 8am. You can follow his progress via his Facebook page where there will be photos and videos.
