Lucky pupils from a Northolt school performed part of the nativity story on ITV's This Morning show.

Sixteen year twos from Wood End Infant School in Whitton Avenue West met Amanda Holden and Phillip Schofield when they acted out Mary and Joseph's travel to Bethlehem, looking for a place to stay so Mary could give birth to baby Jesus.

Teacher Rosemary Leonard accompanied the six and seven-year-old children on the piano, and assistant headteacher Debra Squire was interviewed by Phillip Schofield during the programme last Tuesday (December 16).

When asked how she felt Mrs Squire said: "I can’t take the smile off my face, we are all so proud."

The rest of the children and staff of Wood End Infants watched the show live at school, and classmates said they felt very proud and happy to have seen their friends on TV.

ITV had contacted Wood End Infants to invite students to participate in the five-part story told over five days by different schools across the country.

The Wood End infants that took part in the show were: Krishan Cantilal, Morgan Gadd, Maria Dincheva, Owen Dowling, Hayfa Hersi, Deeyani Kerai, Vagelis Mazis, Victoria Mbadugha, Kiren Naiken, Max Pacey, Xaavair Safdar, Sruthi Santharuban, Thajeev Sureshkumar, Mya Vassall, Anjalina Wijesiriya and Ignas Zitkus.
