AN INTERNATIONAL opera singer who founded a community choir has organised its first big charity concert to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society on Saturday, July 13.

Victoria Simmonds, from West Harrow said: “I love working with the choir. I wanted to create an event where we can share some of the music we have learned over the past year and a half in a short, fun concert, with summer refreshments afterwards so everyone can relax with their friends and neighbours.”

She added: “I decided to do this for Alzheimer’s Society because my mother died of Pick’s Disease, a similar dementia to Alzheimer’s, nearly three years ago, and I think it’s important to support the valuable work that Alzheimer’s Society does.”

The concert is in St Peter’s Church, Sumner Road, West Harrow and is on at 7.30pm.

Tickets £5 adults, children free, available from choir members or call 07973 348 897.
