HUNDREDS of people flocked to Ruislip Manor for the annual fun day in what was the most successful one since the tradition began.

Visitors came from far and wife to enjoy the attractions on offer at the 12 th fun day held in Victoria Road on Saturday (4).

Ruislip Manor Chamber of Commerce (RMCC) organised the event and it was sponsored by Lawrence Rand Estate Agents, in Victoria Road, and George Wimpey.

Les Drussel, chairman of RMCC, said: "It was fantastic and it was the biggest one we have ever had.

"The beekeepers did a lot of business and the creepy crawlies had a fantastic turn out.

"The food sold excellently and the toy stall people said it was the second best event ever for them.

"Everyone said it was a fantastic day. The library did very well too."

Ruislip Manor Library, in Linden Avenue, held an Alien Invasion event so children could dress up as their favourite sci-fi characters for a competition.

Peter Lawrence, director of Lawrence Rand, said: "I think this year was the most successful one because of the amount of people working together to make it happen. Hopefully it will keep getting better and better each year.

"The RMCC is fantastic for the Manor because it gives it the old fashioned community spirit back."

Mr Drussel added: "We have been doing the fun day for 12 years purely to bring people to the Manor and to raise the profile of the Manor.

"The money raised will help pay for this year's Christmas lights."

The Mayor of Hillingdon and the RMCC got cheques presented to them for £400 from Elachi Indian Restaurant.
