A CELEBRITY chef helped raise money for a Pinner charity at one of the village’s most well-known restaurants.

Television chef and presenter Ainsley Harriott lunched at Friends restaurant in High Street with chef patron Terry Farr and picked the winner for the St Valentine’s day raffle.

The raffle raised more than £250 for Pinner Green-based charity Kids Can Achieve, which supports children with special needs, and the winner was treated to a meal for two on February 14.

Mr Farr, a member of Pinner Rotary Club, said: “I chose the charity as it is a local one and people from Pinner Rotary are involved with it. I know someone who benefits from the work they do and I wanted to help a local group. We had a great afternoon and the other people in the restaurant said how entertaining Ainsley was and what a good time they had.”
