HE HAS climbed Mount Everest, made films, written books, and now adventurer Matt Dickinson has even inspired school children to write their own pieces of fiction.

The mountaineer, film-maker and author made a visit to pupils in Year 7 and 8 at Northwood School, in Potter Street, on Friday last week

The 12 and 13 year olds were inspired as Matt told them about his adventures in the Himalayas, and how it ties in with his latest book, Deep Oblivion, the second book in his Mortal Chaos trilogy.

The visit was arranged by the school in conjunction with the Children’s Bookshop in Pinner, after the pupils took on the challenge of reading Matt’s Mortal Chaos book over their summer break.

Librarian at the school, Louise Sautschak, organised the visit. She said: “He was very inspiring and he asked the students questions and loads of hands went up, they were all really engaged in it.”
