The Irish game is played all over the world. It is similar to Hockey with teams using sticks to propel balls towards their opponents' goals but in Hurling players can hit the balls through the air as well as along the ground.
There is a thriving adult team based at the Shamrock Club in Acton. The coaches for the younger players are hoping to swell their teams' ranks and become just as successful.
Father Murphy's Youth Hurling sees boys and girls play together in teams divided by age.
Under eight's coach Donal Duggan said: "They really, really enjoy it. They don't miss a session. Everyone gets to know each other and we're like a family."
