GEARING up for his first attempt at the London Marathon is 38-year-old accountant Tahir Ali.
Mr Ali, who lives in Kenton and works in Pinner, is aiming to raise more than £2,000 for the Children with Cancer charity.
He said: “I have no direct connection to the charity, but what they do is amazing.
“I am quite nervous, but also excited. I did a 20-mile run to east London the other day for training and it was really tough. It’s the first time I have done a marathon so I am pretty nervous, but I wanted to do it because my mother did it when she was I her 50s, so I am following the family footsteps.”
