A farm with 75 acres of pasture land on the fringe of Harrow Weald has been put up for sale for £700,000.

Grimsdyke Farm, which lies on the border of the London borough of Harrow and Hertfordshire in Old Redding, is being sold on behalf of landowners Harrow Council by St Albans-based commercial property experts Strutt and Parker.

Marketed as a "rare investment opportunity within the M25", the plot comes with a detached three-bedroom farmhouse cottage called New Lodge - of which residence is restricted to people who work the land - along with a fire damaged Dutch barn, a fire damaged storage barn, a brick and timber range, a traditional timber granary on stilts, and a "dilapidated" cart lodge barn.

The 75 acres (30 hectares) are designated as pasture land and have been used for livestock grazing and mowing, and Harrow Council's cabinet committee agreed to dispose of the land in November 2007.

Strutt and Parker has asked for bids by Wednesday December 17.
