CONSTRUCTION is underway on a massive multi-storey tower block that will dominate the skyline in Ealing and West Ealing.

The Apex is the name of a a new 250ft high 20-storey residential tower which will contain 127 new one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses.

It will also feature a new 111-bed hotel. Developer Frogmore is behind the scheme, which it hopes will reap the benefits of changes brought to the area by the Crossrail scheme.

David Highton, chair of West Ealing neighbours, said: “It’s very curious that we’re getting yet another hotel, there seems to be a total of about five in six either built or being built.

“I just hope that there is sufficient space, not just for the hotel but for the apartments as well. The building is at such an early stage that it’s too early to say what kind of impact it will have.”

Ealing Council has a masterplan which hopes to revitalise the town centre, complete with 3,600 new homes and new commercial space with retail and leisure premises.

Construction is underway and is scheduled for completion in early 2015.

David Galman, sales director at Galliard Homes said: “The Apex is the fastest selling development we are currently marketing in West London, with between two and six sales per week. The buyers have been end users and investors, all wanting to capitalise on the rapid growth and regeneration of Ealing, which will be further enhanced by Crossrail and the pipeline of new retail, restaurant/cafe and cultural facilities.”
