NEARLY 20 incidents of antisocial behaviour were reported on average EACH DAY in Hayes over January.

Figures published on the crime-mapping Police.uk website show that police dealt with 581 incidents across the Barnhill/Yeading, Townfield and sleepier Charville wards in the first month of 2011.

That is nearly quadraple the number of reports in Ruislip and Eastcote (143), and 121 more than that seen across Uxbridge and West Drayton (460).

The Uxbridge Road stretch close to Hayes police station was the site of 29 incidents of antisocial behaviour, and in Mount Road, just off Coldharbour Lane, there were 12 ASB calls, as well as being the site of five 'violent crimes' and a robbery.

There were three robberies in Carlyon Road in January, which in December had CCTV installed after a long-running campaign from residents fearful of the road's secluded subway which has been the site of numerous muggings and sexual assaults in recent years.

Hillingdon Council have pledged to crack down on antisocial behaviour in the borough, working with police and Safer Neighbourhood Teams in a bid to curb the problem.

Three dispersal zones, giving police powers to separate troublemaking youths, are in place in Hayes Town, the Hayes portion of Uxbridge Road, and Yeading.
