POLICE have named the 16-year-old pedestrian who died following a collision with a bus in Feltham last week.

Michael Wilson, of Sparrow Farm Drive, died on Thursday May 26 on Hounslow Road near the Feltham Assembly Hall, just a day before he was due to celebrate his 17 th birthday.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place shortly after 5pm.

Road and air ambulance crews attended the scene, but he was pronounced dead forty minutes later.

An inquest was opened and adjourned at the Fulham Coroner Office on Friday. A post mortem was scheduled for the same day.

Enquiries into the incident are being investigated by the Road Death Investigation Unit at Hampton.

Detective Sergeant Jeff Edwards, who is leading the investigation, said: "I am grateful for a number of people who stopped at the scene to help. This stretch of road was fairly busy with commuters at that time and I would urge anyone who may have seen any of the parties in the moments leading up to the collision, or the collision itself, to contact police."

A 45-year-old man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and was subsequently bailed to return pending further enquiries.
