BY RUNNING, walking or staggering, this North Paddington lawyer is determined to complete a 10,000km run.

Brave Hemini Patel, 38, will pound the streets of south Westminster in a bid to finish the gruelling course on May 25.

She is hoping to raise money for charity Just for Kids Law, which helps children in need of legal, financial or educational advice.

Ms Patel only began training in December, but since then has put herself through an intensive regime.

"I've never done anything like this but I'm really hoping to finish the course – by running, walking or staggering," she joked.

"I'm the kind of person who didn't like to do exercise or PE at school, but I'm really hoping to finish the course. I'm starting to panic a bit now, as it's so soon."

The lawyer hopes to raise £750 for the charity, as has already been sponsored around £400.

The money will go towards a hardship fund, which provides essential help and items for young people who have not been able to get money legitimately in any other way.

Ms Patel added: "It's really nice to be able to help people who may have fallen through the gaps in the system, and really need our help."
