A manhunt is underway after a sales assistant has been seriously injured during a violent robbery at a wine warehouse.
Majestic Wine has offered a reward of up to £10,000 for information after one of their employees suffered head injuries and stab wounds to his arms and hands after confronting a robber who managed to get away with a quantity of cash.
The attack happened at the West Ealing Majestic Wine Warehouse, Hastings Road, in broad daylight on Tuesday, May 20 at 10am.
A 6ft tall hooded black male aged around 20 to 25 threatened to kill the male victim before repeatedly hitting him with the wine bottle. The suspect then locked the heavily bleeding employee in a toilet.
Detective Constable Phelim Redmond, from the Mets Flying Squad, said: "£10,000 is being offered by Majestic Wine for information about the suspect which would lead to a successful prosecution and conviction.
"The sales assistant had just opened the store when a man entered and demanded money from the safe, threatening to kill the employee. A violent struggle ensued.
"The suspect is described as a black male, aged between 20 to 25 years old, 6'00"-6'02" tall, stocky build, wearing a grey hooded top.
“This was a particularly nasty robbery during which the attacker used a gratuitous level of violence and could have resulted in a more serious outcome. I am appealing for help in identifying the person responsible before he strikes again.”
