Former EastEnder and I'm A Celebrity star Joe Swash will be welcoming shoppers to B&Q's new-look store in Stanmore on Saturday (September 10).
To celebrate the DIY store's refurbishment staff are hosting a family fun day between 11am and 4pm, with a special guest appearance from TV presenter Joe.
Joe, a north Londoner best known for his roles as Mickey Miller in EastEnders and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, will be testing out his DIY skills against staff.
There will also be a balloon modeller, face painter and stilt walkers, as well games and giveaways for parents and children alike.
Customers will also be able to receive help and guidance from B&Q experts including electricians, plumbers, paint pros, kitchen designers and horticultural experts.
Ashley Dickens, unit manager at B&Q Stanmore, said: “The store looks fantastic. We’re ready to show off our new look to Stanmore’s residents and hopefully inspire them to start a new home improvement project under the guidance of our expert advice.
"We’re all really looking forward to Saturday and, of course, putting Joe’s DIY skills to the test.”
Joe added: “As a north London local and DIY enthusiast, it’s fantastic that Stanmore now has a brand new, refreshed B&Q store to help people get stuck into their DIY projects.
"I was hugely impressed with the great expertise and knowledge the staff at the store have - I know where I’ll be coming next time I need some DIY help.”
Alongside a transformed garden centre, refreshed kitchen and bathroom showroom, new point of sale and signage, the store also has a new TradePoint offer - providing discounts of up to 50% to trade customers - and a new Click & Collect offering.
The family fun day will take place at the Honeypot Lane store on Saturday (September 10) from 11am until 4pm, with Joe in store between midday and 2pm.
