A NURSE has swapped her thermometre for a pen as part of her mission to help Hounslow's hearts.

Agnes Kaba, a clinical nurse at West Middlesex Hospital in Isleworth, wrote My Healthy Heart - The Green Book to help patients learn more about their cardiovascular health.

In the book patients complete sections inside to record and monitor their risk factors which could lead to heart disease or attacks, including height and weight ratio, blood pressure readings, blood sugar and cholesterol levels, exercise levels, and alcohol intake.

And the book has already won fans. Dwinder Kaur Hans, 52, of central Hounslow, said the book had taught her to make big difference to her lifestyle and she had even lost half a stone.

She said: "I call the book my personal passport to health."
