Been away this summer? Relaxed whilst the kids have been on holiday? Eaten one too many ice creams? Downed one too many Sangrias?
Like most of us you’ve probably brought more back from your holiday than you’d hoped for! Soon it will be too cold to hide under your oversized maxi dress or those baggy hareem trousers! Autumn fashion is hitting the shops and you’ve soon got to get into those winter jeans, pencil skirts or dare I say leather trousers! How do you keep your tan for longer? Is your hair a bit dry from the sea 'n sand?
One good thing you will notice after your holiday or a day by the beach is your skin has an amazing glow! Be it Margate or Marbella the one great thing about being by the sea is the exfoliating bene?ts. The salt in the sea along with the grains of sand on the beach would have buffed and scrubbed your dry dull skin beautifully leaving it brighter and glowing.
This lets your tan go deeper into the layers. However, you do need to keep the skin hydrated so you don’t dry out and crumble! Drink two litres of water per day to hydrate from within (this can be water or fruit teas). You should also apply a good body moisturiser. I like Garnier’s 7 day Gel Creme on offer right now at Superdrug for only £1.99 (usually £2.99).
Do a three day detox - its still the season for buying good cheap salad fruit and vegetables.
Dont go for boring iceberg! Pick up some watercress or some lovely peppery rocket. Combine these lovely green leaves with chunks of juicy watermelon and a sprinkle of mint and feta cheese and you’ll have the most beautiful fresh healthy salad.
Body brush - before your bath or shower very gently brush the body in upward movements towards the heart. This improves circulation and helps the body get rid of those nasty toxins you’ve accumulated whilst downing the Sangrias.
Give the soles of the feet a good ?rmer brushing because the body eliminates toxins in this area and brushing sheds any dry skin letting the pores release the toxins more freely. Pop into a Llodys Pharmacy that have a great dry boy brush for only £3.99.
One product my daughter and I have been addicted to all summer is Herbal Essence coconut conditioner. It really does leave the hair feeling hydrated and fabulous! If there is a time to slap on the conditioner then its during and after basking in in the sun. At the moment it's only £1.64 in Sainsbury’s for a 400ml bottle so go and grab yours. That's if I haven’t bought it all!
