A Harrow entrepreneur lost nearly a stone in one month with her own brand of tea.

Mother-of-two, Dionne James, 33, decided to make a change after topping the scales at 16st 7lbs back in February 2014.

She told getwestlondon : “I've always struggled with my weight and tried diets but get bored because it seems like a chore.

“I've done everything that you can possibly think of. Exercising and dieting is not something I enjoy so I would fall off, and that's been going on for 10 years.

Ms James tried detox teas two years ago but found they tasted bland and couldn't stick to the routine as she didn't enjoy it enough.

“I thought I'd like to do this myself but how can I make it different? What would make me enjoy it and do it for the whole time?”

“Over the last two years I've been working with my manufacturer and we've been developing flavours and thinking about the outcomes that I would want, such as reducing bloating and speeding up my metabolism, because mine is very slow because I wasn't doing much exercise.

“I researched the herbs and ingredients that would give those outcomes and added flavours that are appealing to people.”

Now, Ms James has launched her 'perfect blend' called DTOX’T teas, after researching and carrying out focus groups.

No miracle

She said: “Ive tried it myself and lost almost a stone with it in one month. I don't make it out to be a miracle or a fad diet - the direction I give is that it's a lifestyle, you need to exercise and eat well to keep the weight off.”

The tea can be ordered online and comes with a free health plan, along with the 14 day detox, meal ideas and exercise routines, said to help weight loss if incorporated together.

Ms James continued: “I've picked core ingredients that speed up metabolism, help to reduce bloating, remove toxins, give an energy boost and suppress appetite – they're the ultimate fat burners.

There's 28 tea bags in box and the direction is to take twice a day, after breakfast and after evening tea.

Ms James, who previously worked as a social worker, says the new business is pursuing her dream.

She added: “My aim and mission is to help others who have suffered like I have suffered - people who have found it really hard to lose weight and I want to make it fun and enjoyable for them.

“I've identified a niche in the market and made it enjoyable so it doesn't feel like a chore. Once I've lost more weight I hope to inspire others too.

Ms James says she won't be leaving her caring side behind after her career change, and hopes to donate a percentage of January profits to charities that help vulnerable children.
