MORE than 90 per cent of patients would recommend West Middlesex Hospital to their friends and family, according to new figures.

However, the hospital falls slightly below the national average for patient satisfaction, the results of a new survey show.

Of the 692 patients to complete one of the government’s new Friends and Family Tests at West Mid between April and June, 94 per cent said they would be either ‘extremely likely’ or ‘likely’ to recommend the hospital.

But when the proportion who would not recommend the hospital was subtracted from the proportion who were ‘extremely likely’ to do so, the hospital scored an average of 62 over the three months - compared with a national average of 64.

The hospital said the response was ‘overwhelmingly positive’ but there was ‘room for improvement’.

One common complaint was about patients not receiving the food they ordered, which West Mid said was being addressed.
