Grenfell Tower survivors have thanked Notting Hill carnival-goers for showing respect and solidarity this weekend.
A community-led effort, Green for Grenfell, encouraged carnival attendees to wear green, put up green artworks, memorials, banners and balloons around the Notting Hill area and observe silences as a show of respect to those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
The campaign had a wide response and carnival-goers helped transform the event into a sea of green, as well as observing two one-minute silences.

A spokesperson from Grenfell Tower residents' group, Grenfell United, said: “We are so pleased with the solidarity everyone showed over the two days, from wearing green to observing the minute silences.
"It was touching to know that Grenfell was in everyone's minds and hearts and that Grenfell will never be forgotten.
"Hopefully we will get the justice we seek for all those that lost their lives.
"Thank you to everyone involved in making Green for Grenfell a huge success and making this a very special Carnival at such a difficult time.”
Green for Grenfell organisers were pleased with the positive response. A spokesperson said: "We hope this will herald the start of a new relationship between all carnival stakeholders.
"It is clear that such a community-driven carnival is the way to address issues and that local people have the appetite and ability to do what other bodies have struggled with for so long."
More than 80 people are believed to have died in the blaze on June 14 and police expect the recovery mission to take until the end of the year.
The Prime Minister announced a public inquiry into the circumstances leading up to and surrounding the Grenfell Tower fire and the first preliminary hearing will take place on September 14 2017.
