It already boasts an impressive range of places to eat yet one company has still managed to find a foodstuff Chiswick was lacking - crepes.

Crepeaffaire opens today (Wednesday 26) on Chiswick High Road in the premises formerly occupied by Benefit beauty bar which closed at the start of the year.

A total of 15 people will be employed from the local area to work in the new shop - which prides itself on using all natural ingredients and organic flour.

The store offers both sweet and savoury delicacies including classic Wiltshire ham and cheddar or for a fruity twist the Merry Berry with berries, honey, fresh mint and yogurt.

It is the tenth of its kind to open - after being founded in 2004 - and the second locally after a branch began inside Westfield shopping centre in Shepherds Bush.

There are seven more outlets in the UK at Westfield Stratford, Wimbledon, Spitalfields, Reading, Cambridge, Leeds and Cardiff, as well as one in Hamburg, Germany.

The manager of the Chiswick branch Aidar Kunbayev, said: “I am hugely excited to be open in Chiswick and look forward to meeting and getting to know the local residents.

“We have a fantastic team ready and waiting to cook a range of delicious crepes, whether you fancy something savoury or sweet.

“We also make a mean breakfast. My favourite is the Eggs Benedict crepe.”

To celebrate the opening Crepeaffaire is giving away free crepes all week as well as distinctive heart-shaped vouchers which will be valid until the end of January.
