The famous food market in Hammersmith is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary this summer.

City and Country Farmers’ Market (CCFM) opened the market in Lyric Square in 2005.

Now, after a decade of serving hungry customers with a wide range of fresh, affordable, ethically-sourced food, as well as delicacies from Thai, Filipino and Caribbean cuisines, it will mark its anniversary with a special event on July 3.

Representatives from CCFM and all the food producers from the market will be present to answer questions about how they grow, source and prepare their products each week. Businesses from the area and Hammersmith & Fulham Council will also be present.

The market - one of the longest running of its kind in the capital - attracts hungry shoppers, workers and residents each Thursday.

Caroline Umali, a happy customer who keeps coming back week after week, noted on the FourSquare website: “The Filipino food [at the Hammersmith Thursday market] is pretty good and I can say that as I’m Filipina and I find it hard to find decent places that do the food well”.

The anniversary event takes place at the Hop Poles pub on in King Street from 5.30pm onwards.
