Hundreds of people queued outside A. Cooke's Pie and Mash shop in Shepherd's Bush over the weekend as staff served up for the final time.

And since the much-loved family business closed its doors on Saturday (July 25) there has been an outpouring of disappointment and upset online.

Customers and locals share their memories of the shop - founded in 1899 and based in Goldhawk Road since 1934 - and described it as "the best pie and mash around".

The shop, run by 63-year-old Mike Broughton, is a popular stop for QPR fans on their way to or from a game at Loftus Road and was also featured in The Who's Quadrophenia.

Mr Broughton now hopes to relocate and, a petition set up by Rangers fans to all Cooke's to open at Loftus Road has received more than 1,200 signatures.
