Sickening anti-Semitic graffiti has appeared on a billboard outside West Ealing train station.

Horrified members of the public were faced with the image sprayed in black, appearing to show the Star of David, a Jewish symbol, hanging from a hangman-style pole.

Twitter user Andreas Wheeler passed it on Friday morning (July 1) on his way to work.

He said: "Not really what I want to see on the way to work. Billboard by west Ealing station. #hatecrime".

The image was removed later that day, and Mr Wheeler tweeted this image from the scene at around 2.30pm.

The graffiti was removed on Friday (July 1)

The tweet read: "Thankfully that nasty graffiti has been removed, well done!"

It comes after racist graffiti appeared outside the Polish Centre in Hammersmith.

Some have linked this with rising tensions and xenophobic incidents in the wake of the Brexit referendum result, with many MPs and other community figures calling for people to stand together against hate crime .

Police were informed about the "racially motivated" damage on the building on June 26.

The Hammersmith graffiti, which appeared on the entrance at 6am, has since been washed off.

Earlier this week Hounslow's police force released a video vowing it would crack down on any racial hatred in the wake of Brexit.
