I WOULD like to say a massive thank you to The Cafm in the Park and the Hydeaway Spa in Rickmansworth, who looked after the Netmums team so well. The editorial team that work on the site from their homes all around the UK got together for a three-day workshop locally and I had to organise somewhere for us to meet.

The Cafm in the Park has always been a great place to go and when I heard their meeting space had a mirror ball, vintage tables and chairs and, of course, the far-reaching views over the lake, I had to check it out.

I love their ethos of local, sustainable delicious food, so I knew wed be well looked after.

We were fuelled on a supply of mouthwatering home-made cakes, warming hot chocolate with lashings of swirly cream and marshmallows, plus tasty mushroom soup and over-filled sandwiches.

The fact that the cafm stormed into the lead in the Netmums 'family friendly places to eat' poll right from the start wasnt surprising, and everything to do with the genuine welcome they offer and their superb menu and setting. A brisk walk around the lake at lunchtime to work off the cakes was an absolute must!

Id been looking for somewhere for us all to go out for dinner and share a glass of wine together, but for the same price I managed to book a fabulous private spa and buy buffet-type food and wine from the supermarket for us to have there.

Youd never know about the Hydeaway Spa unless someone told you about it its one of those hidden places that you only ever hear about through word of mouth.

Its halfway between Denham and Rickmansworth, theres no sign and its in the grounds of a private house owned by beauty therapist Steph and her family.

As well as the large warm swimming pool, theres a Russian sauna, a Turkish Hammam and two beauty therapy rooms.

The lovely Steph got busy unknotting our computer shoulders with relaxing massages, whilst her colleague Stacy gave us glossy manicures.

You can hire the spa for up to 15 people and its a great idea for hen parties, girls' nights outs, birthday treats or even with friends and family children are very welcome. Steph has two of her own and theres a big tub of kids size floats to use in the pool.
