I wasn't going to review this book but, with the band's new album, Chinese Democracy, finally being released (only 14 years late!), I thought I'd let you know what I thought of Watch You Bleed: The Saga of Guns 'n Roses, by Stephen Davis.

My total lack of ability at playing guitar, singing or wearing leather trousers (combined with my hair having a stubborn refusal to grow) have combined, naturally, to make me a fan of, as an uncle once labelled it, 'screaming demon' music.

This book is full of girls, drugs, violence and kick-ass rock 'n' roll, with more anecdotes and information about the band than you could shake a hairy front man at!

The history of the band, and its various members over the years, has been thoroughly researched and, with interviews and quotes from the band themselves and those who were caught up in their madness, this holds nothing back when it comes to the debauched tales of one of the greatest bands of my generation.

Covering practically every moment from how they came together in early 80s Los Angeles to how they imploded and fell apart, this is the book every fan could ask for.

Welcome to the jungle, baby!
