The Colton Arms is a small pub hidden in the back streets of Barons Court which has been run by landlord Jonathan Numm and his family for 43 years.

What does it look like?

All the furniture is made of darkoak. The walls are covered in wood carvings, plates and even afox'shead. Above the stone fireplace hang horse brasses and either side of the horse-shoe-shaped bar are little brass bells that can be rung for service.

Mr Numm said: "Wehaven'tchanged anything since we moved here 43 years ago. If anything gets broken we replace it likefor like."

Is there a garden?

Out back is a pleasant patio garden that is bursting with colourful flowers. There is a rosebush canopytooffer punters some shade.

Who goes there?

Due to its welcoming atmosphere, the pub has a regular following.Mr Numm said: "Wehave a loyal group of regulars. They are a mixed crowd of all different ages and nationalities.'

Real ales on tap?

There are three real ales on tap at any one time, usually London Pride, Adnams and Harveys. The food at lunchtimes consists of simple sandwiches made by Mr Numm.

Is there any music?

With no piped music or fruit machines, the pub is usually filled with the gentle hubbub of conversation and the occasional ping of the tills as a sale is made.

When can you go?

Weekdays are generally quiet so the pub closes from 3.30-5.30pm on MondaytoFriday and from 4-7pm on a Saturday and Sunday.
