A Kensington hotel has started serving nutrient-rich Aloe Vera juice, which it believes will be 2014's health drink of choice, taking over from Coconut Water.

"Aloe Vera does wonders for your skin, so just imagine what it can do on your insides", says The Arch London, who are based at Great Cumberland Place.

Among the alleged health benefits of the ‘Virgin Vera’ cocktail are lower cholesterol, aid weight loss, combat bloating and indigestion, and strengthened immune system. It costs £6 and is a made from muddled Fresh Lime and Raspberries, Aloe Vera Water and Guava Juice served over crushed ice.

The use of Aloe Vera dates back to Egyptian times when it was used as a herbal medicine. The plant extract contains a multitude of vitamins including A, C, E, folic acid, B1, B2, B3, B6 and is one of the few plants that contains vitamin B12, which helps with brain and nervous system function.

Guests can enjoy the cocktails in the hotel’s bar.
