Drinkers at The Green Man pub may feel like they're enjoying a pint in a toy shop this month as the Bedfont boozer launches its annual toy appeal.

Manager Jules Jones is collecting dozens of soft toys, which will be put up all over the walls and offered for adoption.

"People can choose a name and 'adopt' the toy by making a donation," she explained. "At the end of December all the toys and money will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital."

Jules, who has been managing the pub for eight years, is a keen supporter of the children's hospital and was named their fundraiser of the year in 2006.

She said: "It's an amazing place and I would defy anybody to walk around those wards and not feel moved to do something."

To support their appeal just drop off used soft toys at the pub or drop in during December to name a toy and make a donation.
