COME closer curry lovers, we're about to tell you a secret. If you don't know about Greenford Tandoori, one of Ealing's best Indian restaurants, then you are missing out on some of the finest curry in town.

The first Indian restaurant in Greenford, it has been serving curry to an adoring public for 30 amazing years.

Proprietor Mr Muhibur Rahman opened Greenford Tandoori in 1980 and since then the restaurant has gone from strength to strength.

"We have built up a good reputation over 30 years through great food by our award-winning chef and brilliant service by our staff," he says.

Master chef Shamim Syed has a number of impressive accolades against his name having been awarded the prestigious International Chef Of The Year and National Curry Chef titles on more than one occasion.

Mr Syed says the key to his beautiful dishes is his knowledge of fragrant and warm spices from all four corners of India which he delicately blends in meticulous proportions to ensure each dish has its own distinctive flavour and aroma.

The menu offers up a selection of treats from the tandoor, curries, Goan specialties, biriyanis, karais and seafood, chicken and lamb dishes. So what does Mr Rahman recommend?

"The chicken tikka masala is very popular, as are all of our masala dishes. They are very tasty and we have been selling these dishes since we opened," he reveals.

The Lorient chicken special - a thin fillet of chicken cooked with special spices in an exotic sauce - is another favourite, as is the lamb rezala, delectably tender lamb tikka pieces served with onions and peppers in a spicy sauce.

For something extra exotic, try the chicken malabar or prawn or king prawn molly.

Cooked with fresh mango and coconut milk, these dishes bring together the pleasure of sweet and savoury, offering up something truly unique and enticing.

"These are new dishes we have added to the menu and are proving to be very popular," Mr Rahman says.
