ARE you the next Kate Moss or do you have David Beckham's model looks? Now is the chance to reach the heady heights of fame, as a three month competition to become 'The Face of West London' begins this week. Reporter DAN COOMBS explains how it will work and how the winner could go on to become the next big thing...

SCOUTS from a top modelling agency are coming out in force over the next few weeks.

You could be having a drink with your friends, or simply shopping for shoes on the High Street when a journey to potential superstardom could begin.

'The Face of West London' competition launched last Wednesday with scouts from agency Models 1 spending the weekend taking their pick of undiscovered talent.

Models 1 has the famous and popular Robert Pattison, Rosie Huntingdon-Whitely, and Agyness Dean on their books, and are looking for a new face to join them.

They also boast Linda Evangelista, Twiggy, and Yasmin le Bon on their impressive roll call.
So how will the competition work?

Scouts will be in Harrow town centre on April 16.

Between March 24 and April 21 aspiring models will either be plucked from obscurity or can enter themselves by picking up a form at The Chimes Shopping Centre, in Uxbridge High Street.

Heats will run on Saturday May 9, with a grand final show taking place on Saturday May 22.

The final promises to be a spectacular event, with performers, dancers and musicians being given a chance to showcase their talents, before a winner is chosen from 20 finalists.

As well as input from Models 1, the event is being organised by SG Events and The Chimes Shopping Centre.
So what will be on offer to the winner?

As well as being featured in the Harrow Observer, the winner will have the chance of a contract with Models 1, and have the chance to work with legendary designers such as Chanel, Prada and Gucci.

The winner of the 'Face of Brighton' contest is now living the high life thanks to being signed up by modelling agency Storm.

Anyone living in the west London area is eligible for entry, but there are conditions applicants must fit.
To be chosen, entrants must be between 15 and 24 years of age, with men being between 5ft 11" and 6ft 2" tall and girls between 5ft 8" and 6 ft.

Scouts have already expressed that they will be heading to Brunel University's students union and looking around The Chimes Shopping Centre itself, as well as heading to other town centres including Ealing, Beaconsfield and Harrow.

Michelle Moffitt, marketing manager at The Chimes, said: "The Face of West London is a fantastic first step into the world of modelling and we have high hopes for our shoppers.

"The winner will be joining the likes of Agyness Dean on the books of Models 1 so it really is the chance of a lifetime.

"We hope the local community will turn out en mass to support the wannabes looking for fame and fortune."
