Hillingdon Council and the government are jointly funding a rebuild of the school, in Potter Street, which will increase its capacity to 900. It is part of the council’s £150m primary school building programme.

Joan Greening, chairwoman of governors, said: “We are all absolutely thrilled with the news of our rebuild.

“The school is in great shape in terms of the quality of the educational provision, the experiences of the students and the academic outcomes, and this is now the icing on the cake.”

The new school is due to open in 2016.

Between 2011 and September this year, extra facilities and new classrooms are being added to 28 schools. On top of that, two new schools are due to open in September and another in September 2015.
