Firefighters cut a man from his car on Tuesday (February 9) after he was trapped following a collision with a van in Marylebone , Westminster .

According to London Fire Brigade (LFB), firefighters from Paddington were called at 7.46am to Gloucester Place and used cutting equipment to free the driver of the car.

According to London Ambulance Service (LAS), three ambulance crews and an incident officer attended and said a man in his 30's was taken to St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, with back pain.

An LAS spokesperson added that another patient was taken to the same hospital for a head injury and another patient was checked for an ankle injury but was not taken to hospital.

LAS confirmed that none of the injuries were life threatening.

Station Manager Sam Kazmanli said: "It was a difficult rescue as the car has been pushed up against the railings of a house.

"Firefighters worked hard to free the man as quickly and safely as possible. I’d ask people to avoid the area if possible as there is heavy traffic disruption."

The incident was over just after 9am.
