He is known for blowing up submarines, driving super-cars and destroying buildings - but at an astonishing cost of £8billion, experts estimate.

And new figures, from insurance company More Than, show that Roger Moore was the most expensive culprit in Bond's 50-year-history.

The insurance company have gone over damages in all Bond films, from £3 smashed ashtrays to £1billion submarines, to reach their estimated figure.

Mr Moore, who starred in the likes of Moonraker (1979), caused £4.6billion worth of damage as Bond averaging a total of £661,456,590 per film.

His bill includes the destruction of five space shuttles, a space station, vehicles, buildings, possessions and the environment.

Director of Home Claims at More Than, Tovah Grosscurth, said: We are shaken (but not stirred) to discover Roger has done more damage than Daniel as Bond."

"Nevertheless, whoever goes by the name Bond, James Bond, might want to consider taking out a very specialist insurance policy."
