A police station in Ealing was closed for up to four hours after a man entered the building to report a rape allegation.

Ealing Metropolitan Police Service (Ealing MPS) announced at 10.36am on Sunday (January 31) that the front office at Acton police station, in High Street, was temporarily closed due to an "incident".

Officers did not say what the incident was, but PC Jamie Forrester later tweeted that the station had reopened, which was re-tweeted by Ealing MPS.

Officers said the closure lasted between three to four hours.

A Met Police spokesman told getwestlondon that the front office was closed because a man entered the station to make a rape allegation.

But he would not say why the allegation required to station to be closed temporarily, adding that officers are still investigating the rape allegation.

No arrests have been made.
