Get on your bike and explore some of west London's magnificent sights this summer.

As part of the Let's Ride national campaign to get more people cycling, British Cycling and Sky, in partnership with Transport for London (TfL) have planned more than 200 rides across every London borough, including guided rides, social rides and big bike events.

British Cycling leaders will guide groups along the scenic routes unearthing hidden gems, taking in scenic canal towpaths, iconic landmarks and the many green spaces in London, with limited rides on free Santander cycles.

Here we take a look at some of the upcoming guided rides:

Hounslow

A free 14-mile guided ride will take cyclists through traffic-free paths and suburban roads, taking in majestic Syon House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland, as well picturesque Osterley Park and House.

A dozen places remain on this steady two-hour 30-minute ride with rest stops which is due to take place on Sunday (June 14) and Sunday (July 5) at 10am. Starting point is Richmond Lock and half-weir footbridge Ranelagh Drive.

A shorter two-mile ride through Bedfont Lakes will also take place Sunday July 19 at 2pm.

Westminster

An eight-mile route will allow riders to soak in the best of British culture with your set of wheels spinning through the Royal Parks along the Horse Guards Parade and passing the Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace and Speakers Corner with great views of the Serpentine - a perfect family ride.

The two-hour ride still has 11 places remaining and will set off from Black Lion Gate (NW corner of Kensington Gardens near Queensway Station) on Sunday (June 14) at 10am.

Ealing

Ealing is hosting a more challenging ride of its waterways and woodlands on Sunday June 21 but you don't have to be the next Bradley Wiggins to take part.

This ride dips into the surrounding boroughs of Barnet, Ealing and Harrow, with a ride up Harrow on the Hill past Harrow School, visiting St Mary's Church for some wonderful views at the top.

It takes place on Sunday July 19 at 10am from the big dead tree at car park, Gladstone Park, Dollis Hill Lane.

Hammersmith & Fulham

Hillingdon

For families looking to jump on their bikes there's a route setting out from Minet Country Park along the Grand Union Canal towpath before stopping off for a look at Hayes Hawks BMX track in Lake Farm Country before continuing to Little Britain Lake.
