After weeks of campaigning on the back of Theresa May's snap election, the nation has woken up to a hung parliament on Friday June 9.

Now, as we await the outcome of what Mrs May decides to do next , many of us will be looking for ways to recuperate after weeks of General Election fever.

Luckily, there are lots of events going on in the capital with everything from a naked bike ride to an open air cinema.

World Gin Day

World Gin Day is an annual tradition that celebrates the iconic drink and encourages people worldwide to enjoy the tipple. This year, it takes place on Saturday June 10.

Merchant Square is to launch a new pop-up bar on London’s premier "Floating Pocket Park" in Paddington Basin on the Grand Union Canal.

Opening on Saturday (June 10) to celebrate World Gin Day, the Botanical Bar will serve an eclectic and imaginative range of gins and gin cocktails.

It will serving signature cocktails such as "We’ve Got The Whole World Gin Our Hands" made with premium Beefeater 24 and topped off with fresh lavender and lemon balm.

The floating Botanical Bar is the perfect setting to watch the sun go down with a G&T or enjoy a warm summer evening with a gin cocktail in your hand.

Fulham

Neverland: Fulham has launched its very own Thameside beach spot complete with a white sandy beach set within palm trees, pastel painted beach huts, Bring Your Own Booze alfresco drinking, street food dining and summer cocktails.

It is open until October 3, on Wednesday to Fridays from 6pm to 11pm, on Saturdays from 12pm to 11pm, Sunday and bank holidays from 12pm to 9.30pm.

Neverland London launches River Thames beach venue in Fulham

Chestertons Polo in the Park : A large and fun polo tournament returns to Hurlingham Park on June 9 to June 11.

There will be teams representing six different cities from around the world and visitors will get to see a minimum of three games of polo a day.

Shopping is also available, as well as food and drink and musical entertainment on site.

Wembley

Color Run: Dubbed "the happiest 5k on the planet", the concept is simple - dress in white, run 5km (around three miles) with your family, friends or colleagues and finish the day head-to-toe in kaleidoscopic colour.

Those taking part in the Colour Run at Wembley Park on June 11 will be dusted with powder paints thrown by eager volunteers at each kilometre mark along the route.

The event starts at 3pm.

World Naked Bike Ride

Thousands of demonstrators will bare all on Saturday June 10 for the unusual protest against "car culture and oil dependency."

The World Naked Bike Ride is believed to be the world's biggest nude protest and takes place across 50 cites with thousands of people taking place worldwide.

The London leg of the event will take place on Saturday, June 10 and will have seven start points at Tower Hill, Regents Park, Kings Cross, West Norwood, Hyde Park, Clapham Junction, and Kew Bridge.

Open Air Cinema at Kensington Palace

Fancy learning the moves from the movie?

Film lovers will get the chance to experience The Westfield Open Air Cinema this month.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of London's iconic Kensington Palace, the Shepherd's Bush shopping complex will hold the event over the weekend.

Visitors are invited to kick back under the summer sky, soak up the entertainment and watch recent blockbuster Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, La La Land and Disney's Moana as well as the Oscar winning live action movie, The Jungle Book.

Open Farm Sunday

Families are invited to take part in one of the farming industry's biggest events this June.

The day is an opportunity for people to discover the life of farmers and the work required to produce food and manage the countryside.

More than 1,000 farmers across the UK will be taking part in the event, managed by LEAF, which is now in its 12th year.

Most farms are free to walk in, but others may charge a small entrance fee.
