Hounslow is launching its first volunteering fair to celebrate Volunteers’ Week next week.

Volunteering Hounslow is inviting residents in the borough to join them and get connected with organisations such as Hounslow’s Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Victim’s Support and the National Trust which offer local volunteering opportunities.

It will provide the chance to develop new skills and be a part of tackling local issues.

Martyna from Feltham , a full-time mum and a regular volunteer, said: “I enjoy my volunteering experiences as they have allowed me to meet new people.

“I also get to help my local community and promote volunteering, which has 100% helped me develop skills for the work environment.”

To start your volunteering journey attend the free event in the lobby at Hounslow Library, Treaty Centre, High Street, Hounslow from 2.30pm to 5.30pm on June 9.

Existing volunteers’ stories will be shared using #MakeItHappen while some people will be awarded for their hard work during a presentation ceremony.
